Summer Roofless Activities

As a New Yorker, you learn to love (and hate) the summer, because winter is brutally long and miserable. When it’s finally proper summer weather, everyone seems to try staying outside, drinks, cinemas, concerts and picnics.

Founded in 1954 by Joseph Papp (1921-1991), the New York Shakespeare Festival is the first company in the U.S. to offer free productions of Shakespeare. I’ve always thought Shakespeare plays are much better watching outdoor under the sky of changing colors, from sunset to starlights. The Delacorte Theater was established in 1962. Each year, two plays will be performed on this stage against the backdrop of Belvedere Castle.

There are a few different ways to get tickets, waiting in line, online lottery or vouchers distributed in various locations in the city. The most effective way to get tickets is to convince all your friends, either New Yorkers or visitors (better yet since they don’t have to work) that this is the ultimate summer event – which increase your chance of winning lottery or having companions waiting in line.
